During our recent staycation at Coronado Springs, we stayed in the delicious Gran Destino tower. Not sure we could go back to not staying there, but we'll see. We were no strangers to the elevator system though, because there's a fantastic restaurant and bar at the top. We had been up there a bunch. Still, we were staring at the elevators more since we stayed on the 7th floor. This particular building has those elevators where you choose a floor from the outside, and it routes the optimal elevator to your floor. It's a fantastic system that's especially prevalent in new skyscrapers. Just don't tell the lady I ran into that hates them because, "There are no buttons inside."
Regardless, one of the times we were waiting for the elevator, not long, mind you, I thought, "This would make a cool game, making the player the computer." So I built Elevator Op. It's web-based, so no download or app store needed. Just install it when it asks.
It came about pretty quickly over the weekend. Then Monday night I made a bunch of minor tweaks, and last night some visual dressing up for now. The first pass was hard because there were no visual indicators about where the elevators were going. Changing that made it infinitely more interesting to play.
Not sure what to do with it, it's just something for me to mess with. I like making stuff.
